Basimsetty Veerababu

Basimsetty Veerababu, known professionally as PRO Veerababu, was born in Guduru, Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and raised in a close-knit village family. His parents, Basimsetty Ratna Rao and Janaki Lakshmi, and his wife, Srilatha, shaped a life grounded in community and storytelling.

He pursued a B.Com at Andhra Jateeya Kalasala (National College), Machilipatnam, before the practical demands of a cinema career began — the start of a hands-on education in film.

His early professional life was rooted in journalism and publicity: reporting for Andhra Bhoomi, reporting and marketing for Andhra Jyothi, marketing at Santosham Magazine, and editorial and industry work at Studio Roundup. Those experiences formed the foundation for a career as a PRO, where media knowledge and relationship building are essential.

He was first drawn to cinema by an actor’s ambition — by performance and the social reach of film. During promotions for Ammacheppindi he met Valli, wife of composer M. M. Keeravani, and he credits mentorship from senior journalist Vinayaka Rao with helping him move into publicity and production.

In the years that followed, his work extended from film publicity into production. He founded Thunia Films in 2012 and Cine Sarkar Entertainments in 2023, and has worked on titles across Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema. His approach emphasizes consistency, relationship-building, and helping filmmakers reach audiences.

His career is defined by continuous learning, relationship-building, and a pragmatic commitment to making films and filmmakers visible.
